PEL 106 Spinel Block
PEL 106 Spinel Block, operated by Great Artesian Oil and Gas Limited ("Great Artesian"), covers an area of 300 km2 and lies within the south-western Patchawarra Trough where it encompasses, or bounds, several producing oil and gas fields including Bindah,
Cowrall, Ficus, Gidgealpa, Jack Lake, Kanowanna, Kurunda, Leleptian, Nephrite, Nephrite South, Nulla, Meranji, Mica, Moonanga, Raven, Vanarus and Welcome Lake production licences which are all excluded from the permit's exploration acreage.
PEL 106 previously formed portions of the Santos operated Lake Hope and Murta Blocks of PELs 5 and 6.
PEL 106 is located within the deeper portion of the Patchawarra Trough part of the Cooper Basin where there is a more complete section of Early to Late Permian and Triassic sediments.
